Cowtown 2016

2016 has gotten off to a great start!  I transitioned out of the Army, am participating in the Team RWB million meter row challenge, and I recently ran The Cowtown10 K with two of my good friends.

We all know service members who were wounded or killed serving our nation. We ran with Old Glory as a memorial to create awareness and remembrance and my story was featured on the local news.

This was the first race I ran since transitioning out of the Army, and in a sense it was a victory lap. I had conquered adversity and recovered from being wounded, leaving the military on my own terms and not because of my injuries– that is winning in my book.

I wake up everyday asking myself  “How can I make today count?, and then get up and experience life. It starts with me. Everyday is Alive Day!
